We’ve only gone and done it again.

This time last year, we announced that our rapid revenue growth – 932% during the 2017 to 2021 period of fiscal years – had, for the first time, earnt us a place in Deloitte’s Fast 50 list of the UK’s fastest growing technology companies.

But we didn’t let this go to our heads and, thanks to our hard work, continued growth and the support of our customers and partners, we’ve been rewarded with a place this year as well.

Good data governance includes a set of robust processes, policies and standards that ensure the efficient and effective use of information. It stipulates who is responsible for data, how it can be used and how its quality is assured. Part of NOW: Pensions’ newly defined Data Governance Program included creating a new business data model to improve and organize their data structure. Once built, the model was then enriched through defining a set of data quality rules that prevented the uptake of bad data, as well as measuring the quality of the data that was already held by NOW: Pensions. 

“Instead of being controlled by data and the regulator, we want that nirvana state of using the data in order to turn on a dime to market conditions and new opportunities.”

In February, news broke of a data leak at Credit Suisse. Known as Suisse secrets, the breach related to more than US$100 billion held by 30,000 clients, some of whose records stretched as far back as the 1940s.

Effective data governance has become a vital requirement for a successful enterprise in an increasingly data-driven world.
